This unique tile tableau by Brazilian artist Speto is part of Urban Blue – From Bricks to Tiles, a groundbreaking project in which street art and Delft Blue come together. In 2025/2026, six international street artists created exceptional artworks during two Artist in Residence periods, in close collaboration with the craftsmen and designers of Royal Delft.
Speto
Brazilian artist Speto (São Paulo, 1971), a pioneer of the Brazilian street art scene, created an impressive ceramic tableau composed of 192 hand-painted tiles. In this work, he weaves together traditional Cordel woodcut prints, folk stories, and popular culture with contemporary street art. Executed entirely in blue and signed in the lower right corner, the piece pays tribute to the iconic musicians Lô Borges and Milton Nascimento through a composition of two figures and multiple objects. This exclusive artwork showcases a combination of different techniques. Learn more about Speto
Urban Blue
Urban Blue is an innovative art project that blends the rich tradition of Delft Blue with the energy and expressiveness of street art. Through collaboration with Straat Museum Amsterdam, international street artists quite literally move from bricks to tiles, creating a new way to experience heritage and contemporary art. All works by the six different street artists can be seen in the exhibition Urban Blue – From Bricks to Tiles at the Royal Delft Museum (until August 23, 2026).
