Vase | Madi | Origin

This unique ceramic object by French artist Madi is part of Urban Blue – From Bricks to Tiles, a groundbreaking project in which street art and Delft Blue come together. In 2025/2026, six international street artists created exceptional artworks during two Artist in Residence periods, in close collaboration with the craftsmen and designers of Royal Delft.

Madi

French artist Madi (Antibes, 1987) presents a ceramic totem composed of several stacked forms. The base forms a vase featuring a detailed female figure. Above it are several round shapes in blue and white, with the top form containing a small human head. Both the front and back are decorated in the same way. The work is signed by the artist and is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece.

Madi lives and works in Lisbon, where she creates “inner landscapes”, interpretations of her dreams, emotions, and memories. Her work is diverse, ranging from murals to canvases and collaborations with fashion brands, but always instinctive. She seeks wonder and escapism: that moment when different elements come together to form a world and evoke emotion. More about Madi 

Urban Blue

Urban Blue is an innovative art project that blends the rich tradition of Delft Blue with the energy and expressiveness of street art. Through collaboration with Straat Museum Amsterdam, international street artists quite literally move from bricks to tiles, creating a new way to experience heritage and contemporary art.
