Plate | Claudio Limon | Sacred Hands

This unique ceramic plate by the artist Claudio is part of Urban Blue – From Bricks to Tiles, a groundbreaking project where street art and Delft Blue come together. In 2025/2026, six international street artists created exceptional works during two Artist in Residence periods, in close collaboration with the craftsmen and designers of Royal Delft.

Claudio

Claudio presents a hand-painted and richly decorated ceramic plate. The plate depicts the three figures above the monumental staircase, originally gifted by the staff to De Porceleyne Fles in celebration of its 300th anniversary. These figures remain visible at the top of the staircase and also served as inspiration for Claudio’s section of the mural. From left to right, the figures represent a potter, a ceramicist, and a raw materials worker. The scene is richly adorned with floral motifs. This work is a one-of-a-kind piece.

Claudio is known for his large-scale murals and expressive style, which combines Mexican traditions with contemporary pop culture. His work results in dynamic compositions that bridge the old and the new, always with the same goal: to bring a smile to your face. Learn more about Claudio.

Urban Blue

Urban Blue is an innovative art project that blends the rich tradition of Delft Blue with the energy and expressiveness of street art. Through collaboration with Straat Museum Amsterdam, international street artists literally move from bricks to tiles, creating a new way to experience heritage and contemporary art.
