Tile Wild Flower 09 Set

Tile 09 is part of the colorful Wild Flower Series by Royal Delft. This polychrome collection is characterized by floral designs in warm, natural tones such as yellow, green, blue, and reddish-brown. The blue floral decoration is applied using a refined screen-printing technique and is carefully produced and shipped from Delft.

Wild Flower Series

The foundation of this special series lies in a historical archive discovery. The designs are inspired by original sketches and transfer prints from around 1930, originating from the former Westraven tile factory. These botanical motifs, drawn from nature, have been reinterpreted and elevated into a contemporary style.

Thanks to its timeless design and warm color palette, Wild Flower Tile 09 can be effortlessly combined with other tiles from the series. Perfect as a subtle eye-catcher or as part of a larger wall composition.

Wild Flower Tile 09

After introducing the Wild Flower tile collection numbers 01 to 06, Royal Delft now presents the series 07 to 13.

Tile Wild Flower 09 is part of the Wild Flower Series—a colorful, floral, and unique Polychrome collection consisting of six tiles and the Proud Mary Wild Flower. The tile, decorated with blue flowers, is created using a screen-printing technique, carefully packaged, and shipped from Delft. It can easily be combined with one or more tiles from this new (tile) series.

A Piece of Delft Blue History

In the 1960s, Royal Delft acquired the Westraven tile factory. Recently, a remarkable discovery was made in the archive: the sketches and transfer sheets of six stunningly different floral designs by Westraven. These sketches and transfers date back to 1930. They are in excellent condition and form the foundation of the tile collection. Additionally, they served as inspiration for the skirt of Proud Mary Wild Flower. The tiles can be beautifully paired with the latest member of the Proud Mary family.

Wild Flowers in Modern Interiors

Modern interiors are characterized by natural influences. The designers at Westraven in the 1930s drew their inspiration directly from nature. Flowers such as the woodland tulip, snake’s head fritillary, and clematis, which served as their inspiration, are now elevated to a new level almost 100 years later by the designers of Royal Delft. The designs have been developed using the polychrome multi-color decoration technique, incorporating yellow, green, blue, and red-brown. The knowledge of working with these specific colors originates from the Mediterranean region. These earthy tones form the foundation of contemporary modern interior designs.
