During Salone del Mobile, Royal Delft presents an ode to the landscape. In the heart of the city, in a beautiful palace and surrounded by leading Dutch brands and designers, Royal Delft demonstrates how centuries-old landscape motifs continue to evolve in the present day. Here, tradition and innovation meet in a contemporary interpretation of cultural heritage. Visitors are warmly invited to experience and discover this story for themselves.
The Dutch landscape has been at the heart of Royal Delft since the 17th century. In Delft Blue, these scenes form a recognizable and beloved decorative theme, where nature, architecture, and atmosphere come together. These landscapes were rarely exact depictions of real locations; instead, they were composed in the studio and primarily reflect an idealized vision of the Dutch landscape.
Over the centuries, Royal Delft has continued and continually reinterpreted the tradition of landscape painting. From early, imaginative scenes to more atmospheric landscapes influenced by later artistic movements, the depiction of landscape has kept evolving. In the current collection, this theme is approached in various ways, making the landscape at Royal Delft a bridge between past and present
The Dutch Dawn collection by Royal Delft captures the mystique of the Dutch landscape. Inspired by the changing seasons, it blends iconic Delft Blue motifs with refined ton-sur-ton details, creating a modern-classic collection with a subtle, magical morning atmosphere.
The 10-piece set forms a unified artwork, with each piece representing a fragment of the landscape, from nature to urban elements and morning dew. When combined, the pieces bring the scene to life, while the open centers leave room for culinary creativity.
Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix
Last year, for the third consecutive year, the exclusive trophies by Studio Piet Boon in collaboration with Royal Delft graced the podium of the Formula 1 Heineken Dutch Grand Prix. In a fully Delft Blue edition, speed, tradition, and craftsmanship came together in a unique collection. The artwork for the trophies was designed and hand-painted by the designers and master painters of Royal Delft, with the iconic blue decorations offering a contemporary interpretation of the rich Dutch heritage.
Each trophy tells its own story. The winner’s trophy is entirely executed in the signature floral Delft Blue decoration. The constructor’s trophy is inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi, with hand-painted patterns finished with 24K gold luster detailing, as if the trophy had been restored from shards. The second- and third-place trophies feature dynamic brushstrokes that convey the speed and energy of Formula 1. Together, they form an impressive and meaningful collection that showcases Dutch pride and craftsmanship on an international stage.
