Egg Vase XL

Everyday elements come together in an entirely unexpected way to form an artistic object. One day, Marcel Wanders had the bizarre idea of designing a porcelain object in the soft, undulating shape of a stack of eggs. But what could it actually become? And how could he achieve the form he envisioned? Two brilliant ideas emerged. Why not boil a set of eggs, place them in rubber condoms to protect them, and cast porcelain around them? And why not create a bizarre, soft, resilient egg vase? In no time, a groundbreaking idea was born, and not long after, the Egg Vase came to life, conquering homes, offices, and other spaces.

For the 25th anniversary of Moooi, Royal Delft created an XL version of the iconic Egg Vase by Marcel Wanders. Entirely handcrafted in the Royal Delft atelier in Delft, this XL version not only amplifies the distinctive character of the Egg Vase but also highlights the exceptional craftsmanship of Royal Delft.
