The Porceleyne Fles / Royal Delft has been producing decorative wall plates since the early years of Joost Thooft. In the first instance, plates smaller than 22 cm were intended as crockery, only later they were used for decoration. The plates were introduced in the 1920s and 1930s with Delft Blue decorations in the middle.
