Proud Mary is named after Mary II, wife of Stadtholder William III and a great enthusiast and collector of Delft Blue in the Golden Age. This stylish figurine was born from the desire to give Royal Delft’s iconic Delft Blue a contemporary look. The design consists of four interchangeable elements: the skirt, the bodice, the collar, and the head. The design is by Dutch designers Koens & Middelkoop; the decoration was designed by the designers and master painters of Royal Delft. Proud Mary Flower Peacock Inspired by the 17th century and driven by the desire to give the Delft Blue that Royal Delft has been producing since the 17th century a contemporary look & feel, Royal Delft presents: Proud Mary. Proud Mary consists of four separate elements: the skirt, the body, the collar, and the head. These larger Marys are hand-painted by Royal Delft artisans. This Mary is especially proud thanks to its peacock decoration. This Proud Mary is limited to only 150 pieces, a unique collector’s item.
