About this statement

Royal Delft strives to make its websites accessible to everyone. That is why we are working on improving accessibility in accordance with the guidelines from the Temporary Decree on Digital Accessibility of Government, based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA.

Accessibility guidelines

In the development, design, and management of our webshop, we take the four principles of WCAG into account:

  • Perceivable: information and user interface components must be perceivable to users.
  • Operable: the website must be operable in various ways, for example with a keyboard.
  • Understandable: information and the operation of the user interface must be as clear and predictable as possible.
  • Robust: the website must be able to work as well as possible with various browsers, devices, and assistive technologies.

WCAG 2.2 contains testable success criteria at levels A, AA, and AAA. We focus our efforts on level AA.

Accessibility measures

We strive, among other things, to ensure that:

  • text has sufficient contrast with the background;
  • information is not conveyed solely by color;
  • images are provided with appropriate alternative texts where necessary;
  • pages have a clear structure and logical headings;
  • links and buttons are clearly recognizable and understandable;
  • interactive components can be operated with a keyboard;
  • the keyboard focus is visible;
  • forms contain clear labels and error messages;
  • the website is usable on various screen sizes;
  • the website is also easily usable on mobile devices;
  • moving or interactive content causes as few accessibility problems as possible;
  • content is presented as clearly and understandably as possible.

Accessibility status

We are constantly working to improve the accessibility of our webshop. At this moment, we cannot guarantee that every page and every functionality fully complies with all success criteria of WCAG 2.2 level AA.

Accessibility can also be affected by technical third-party components, such as Shopify, apps, payment providers, embedded content, or other external services.

When we identify accessibility problems or receive a report about them, we attempt to assess them as quickly as possible and resolve them where possible.

Technology and compatibility

Our webshop is offered via the Shopify platform. We strive to make our webshop as accessible as possible for modern browsers and various devices, including computers, tablets, and smartphones.

Actual accessibility may depend on the browser used, the device, the settings, and any assistive technology.
