About Herring dish
In addition to the world-famous Delft Blue, the master painters at Royal Delft also create the multicolored polychrome collection. This decorative style is inspired by the colors used in the Mediterranean region, and it is these colors that give the earthenware its typical character. This herring dish has been part of De Porceleyne Fles's collection since 1880 and remains one of the most popular pieces. After all, the herring catch was and is an important source of income for the Dutch fishing industry.
