The Wool Studio introduces seven beautiful rugs based on iconic Royal Delft designs

Centuries-old designs and an appreciation for craftsmanship converge in a rug

Today, The Wool Studio introduces seven beautiful rugs based on iconic designs by Royal Delft. The centuries-old designs of Royal Delft serve as inspiration for The Wool Studio's new rug collection. Craftsmanship, handwork, and high-quality products are the ingredients of this collaboration.

Royal Delft's database as the foundation for the collection

From 17th-century wall plates to 21st-century rugs, these hand-tufted rugs are designed in traditional shapes featuring the recognizable and iconic patterns of Royal Delft. The first seven rugs, now available for admiration, have been crafted by The Wool Studio using Econyl, Tencel, and New Zealand wool. The Wool Studio owes its name to the use of these natural materials in all its collections. The traditional shapes of Royal Delft's wall plates are translated into the rugs. For example, the elegant corners of the applique form are reflected in the Royal Delft Flower Bed rug. The showpiece of this collection is the Royal Polychrome Birds Special Edition. This colorful rug is a true eye-catcher, whether on the floor or on the wall!

The Collaboration

An appreciation for quality and craftsmanship is central to this collaboration. The craft of painting pottery finds a continuation in the hand-tufting of rugs through this partnership. "We have been working on this collaboration for quite some time. When The Wool Studio approached us, we enthusiastically started working and arrived at these beautiful rugs," says Joffrey Walonker, Design Manager Royal Delft.

"We are incredibly proud and delighted to collaborate with Royal Delft. We share a sense of beauty and quality. This makes working with Royal Delft very natural. It was the traditional Dutch designs that made me think: 'This would be magnificent as a rug!'" Hans van der Goes, owner of The Wool Studio.
