Where two traditions meet: Waterworks x Royal Delft
Waterworks selects Royal Delft as partner for exclusive Easton collection, bringing together centuries-old Delft Blue craftsmanship and timeless bathroom design.
Since 1653, Royal Delft has been renowned for the art of hand-painted Delft Blue. In collaboration with Waterworks, the American design house for high-end bathroom fittings and accessories, this age-old tradition is given a new, contemporary application.
The collaboration has its origins in a shared appreciation for craftsmanship, historical design, and sustainable quality. Both houses draw inspiration from the past and translate traditional craftsmanship into designs that suit contemporary interiors.
The collection is inspired by historical Delft motifs and the elegance of the Edwardian period, during which Dutch ceramics played an important role in English interiors. Extensive historical research, including a study of collections at the Rijksmuseum and the Royal Delft archives, formed the basis for a new visual language in which heritage and modern design reinforce one another.
The development required not only creativity but also technical innovation. Together, Royal Delft and Waterworks developed special techniques and tools to apply the refined decorations of Delft Blue to bathroom fittings and accessories.
Each pattern is applied entirely by hand by the master painters of Royal Delft, using techniques that have been refined over the centuries. The subtle variations in the painting make each piece unique and give every object its own character.
With Waterworks x Royal Delft, two exceptional design traditions come together. The result is a collection in which Dutch ceramic heritage, innovation, and timeless design meet, giving the art of Delft Blue a new place in the contemporary interior.
