In 2025\/2026, six international street artists created exceptional artworks during two Artist in Residence periods, in close collaboration with the craftsmen and designers of Royal Delft.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tja Ling Hu<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dutch artist Tja Ling Hu (Gorinchem, 1987) presents a hand-painted ceramic vase with a removable lid. The piece features an intertwined composition of a woman, a snake, and a lotus flower, painted all around in various shades of blue. The decoration continues beneath the lid, and the object is signed by the artist on the underside. This is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece.<\/p>\n<p>Tja Ling Hu grew up between two cultures. Her parents migrated from China to the Netherlands in the 1970s, where they built a new life through hard work in the family restaurant. Tja Ling was raised with typically Dutch values and norms. This created a gap between her and her parents; rituals and spirituality increasingly gave way to individualism and Dutch directness. In her work, she seeks to bridge that gap. <a href=\"https:\/\/museum.royaldelft.com\/tja-ling\/\">More about Tja-ling\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Urban Blue<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Urban Blue is an innovative art project that blends the rich tradition of Delft Blue with the energy and expressiveness of street art. Through collaboration with Straat Museum Amsterdam, international street artists quite literally move from bricks to tiles, creating a new way to experience heritage and contemporary art. All works by the six different street artists can be seen in the exhibition <em>Urban Blue \u2013 From Bricks to Tiles<\/em> at the Royal Delft Museum (until <strong>August 23, 2026<\/strong>).
