Claudio Limon, Keya Tama, Madi, Ryol, Speto, and Tja Ling Hu each designed a tile with its own character and story. In 2017, she won the prestigious Fiep Westendorp Encouragement Award for a project that depicted her family's journey from China to the Netherlands between the 1930s and 1970s. While it was a search for a better life for her family at the time, for Tja Ling, her Chinese heritage is a search for her own identity.

Tja Ling takes you into the world of her thoughts, which manifests in a surreal, dreamlike, and sometimes somber way. With her characteristic fine lines and soft pencil strokes, she invites you to literally enter her world: only by moving closer can you truly observe the details, making the connection with her work intimate and personal. It shows the connection to her Chinese heritage and upbringing, which she attempts to better understand through her art.

Tja Ling's work has been exhibited in various galleries, museums, and art fairs, such as Art on Paper (Amsterdam) and Museum LAM (Lisse). In addition to her work on paper, she also creates murals, both in the Netherlands and abroad.

More information about Urban Blue can be found at: www.urbanblueexpo.nl

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1017/7898/1203/files/1536_46202606_tja-ling_tegel_13x13cm-scaled.jpg?v=1783962310
